A Leopard (Panthera pardus) has black spots arranged in rosettes, contrasted on a yellow-golden background.
A Leopard is a very elusive animal and the strongest climber of the larger cats and usually takes prey high up into the branch of a tree, to protect it from other predators. They are solitary animals and can be found in thick bush and rocky outcrops in the wild. The pose on this sculpture is very true to their nature – walking across rocky terrain late afternoon.
The base is Superwood with a black stain.
